I trained in Ballet,Tap Jazz and Theatre Skills from an early age, participating in competitions and performing in shows and pantomimes. When a contract to dance in Japan fell through I decided in 1991 to open my own dance school. From two pupils initially the school has grown from strength to strength with now over 250 pupils taking lessons on a weekly basis. Former pupils are now working professionally as performers and teachers. I hold the three IDTA Teaching qualifications in Ballet – Associate, Licentiate and Fellow as well as qualifications in Tap, Modern Jazz and Theatre Craft.
Tell us about the Aqua Ballet Class
The class will follow the structure of a Ballet Barre class, because we are in water it will be very safe for the joints so it will be suitable for all ages. Ballet can improve posture whist toning and sculpting all the muscles.
It’s been a while since I had a pair of ballet shoes on…does that matter?
You won’t need any ballet or swimming experience to take part. Obviously you cant do the class with a broken leg but other than that as long as I know if you’ve got any physical conditions, then you should be absolutely fine to take part.
Starts Monday 5 September, 8.15pm-9.00pm.
Aqua Ballet is free to members.
Pay-as-you-go per class – £4.40 (LeedsCard discounts available)
